Feelings
To many are run around by their feelings. Our feelings are meant to be followers. They follow what we believe. If we believe there is a boogy man under our bed, we will be filled with dread. However, if someone comes, that we trust, and tells us that all is well, we can be at peace. Another way to look at it is using the analogy of flying by instruments. When pilots fly in the clouds or on a moonless night, they need to rely on their instruments with regard to the position of their airplane. Many have died by succumbing to feelings that they are turning or losing altitude when they are not, as they react to their false feelings they do things that cause them to crash. This probably happened to JFK Jr.
God is love. He relates to you in love alone. He is guiding your life. Everything that He allows in your life is in some way, for your good. If you believe that you will have peace, if you allow appearances alone to dictate your reality, you will not have peace.
As things happen in your life you need to ask the question, is God love? Is He guiding your life? If you answer those questions in the affirmative, then the implications of that should be clear. Hold on to the facts until your feelings give up and you will find peace. We fight the fight of faith.
There is nothing wrong with experiencing wonderful feelings. The problem is when you depend upon those feelings to validate the facts rather than visa versa. God is just as good when you are feeling down as when you are high on your feelings of His goodness. The key is to refuse to buy the lies that come when your feelings take a tumble.
